Pollinator Poetics: a writing workshop with Mary Newell and A. Anupama

September 25, 10am – 1pm at the home of poet Mary Newell in Garrison NY. $45 fee per participant. This workshop will take place outdoors, and will be rescheduled if weather interferes. Register on Meetup.com.

In this outdoor writing and/or drawing workshop, participants can explore spaces including pollinator-friendly gardens, open woods, flowing creek, labyrinth, and a quiet nook in a witch-hazel grove. Try out different perspectives to decenter your view from an assumption of human primacy.

Influences & Interrogations: a poetry workshop

Three Thursdays: October 28, November 18 & December 9, at 7pm. No fee for participants. The Nyack Library hosts this community workshop in which participants will focus on uncovering our own unique, literary “family trees.” We will write together using creative exercises to engage with our early influences, cultural heritages, and current interests while exploring ways to raise and strengthen our poetic voices. Limited to 10 participants. Register at Nyack Library or on their website.
