Arches

I graduated with my MFA in writing! What a glorious journey, so full of challenges and revelations. Everywhere I look, there are these arches, doorways, curved rainbows, and signs. As though it continues. As though the motion is all we were meant to learn anyway. My gratitude to my teachers, fellow students, and the staff of Vermont College of Fine Arts is unending.

I attended VCFA’s overseas residency in Skofja Loka, Slovenia, for my graduation. It was an intensive immersion in travel writing, poetry, history, art, prose, and language. The fluidity with which we experienced all of that continues to amaze me, as did this blue river in the photo, in the gorge at Tolmin, right under Dante’s cave.
